Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Base Walk challenges, rewards, and verification.

What do I need to start?

A Base-compatible wallet and a device that records steps (Google Fit or Apple Health). You can join free games or wager ETH/USDC for higher rewards.

How are steps verified?

With your consent, we read daily step totals from Google Fit or Apple Health via a secure backend. Our oracle writes pass/fail to the game smart contract each day.

How do payouts work?

If you complete every day, you avoid penalties and share the penalty pool from those who missed days. Otherwise, your entry is reduced by a proportional penalty.

When can I claim?

After the challenge end date, the oracle finalizes results and marks the game as finalized. You can then call Claim directly from the game page.

Which tokens are supported?

ETH (native) and USDC on Base for paid games. Free games require no tokens but still earn XP.

What are fees?

Some games may include a small protocol/creator fee, clearly displayed before you join.

Can I cheat by faking steps?

We run anomaly detection and reserve the right to disqualify entries that appear fraudulent. Repeated abuse can result in account restrictions.

What data do you store?

We store your wallet, minimal game participation data, and step totals per day for verification (not raw location data). See Privacy Policy for full details.

Is this available on iOS?

Yes—Apple Health support is available via export/companion flow. We're iterating toward more seamless iOS integration.

I joined but my steps are not showing.

Confirm your fitness account is linked, you granted the read scope, and the date/time zone is correct. Some providers sync with a delay; results update after nightly verification.
