Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 15, 2025

ℹ️This template reflects our MVP design and will evolve as features change.

1. Summary

We collect the minimum data required to run step challenges and verify results. Core on-chain logic (join/finalize/claim) is public. Off-chain we store account links and daily step totals for verification.

2. Data We Collect

  • Wallet data: address, transactions you sign with the Service.
  • Account links: Google Fit / Apple Health identifiers and OAuth tokens you authorize.
  • Steps: per-day totals only (no GPS routes), plus pass/fail flags for each challenge day.
  • Usage: device/browser metadata, logs, and crash diagnostics.

3. How We Use Data

  • Verify challenge completion and write attendance/finalization on-chain.
  • Operate leaderboards, XP, badges, and anti-fraud checks.
  • Send service emails/notifications you opt into.

4. Sharing

  • On-chain smart contracts are public by design.
  • Vendors we use to operate the Service (cloud hosting, analytics) receive only what they need.
  • We do not sell personal data.

5. Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit, and store secrets in a managed vault. No system is perfectly secure; keep your wallet keys private.

6. Your Choices

  • Disconnect fitness providers at any time to stop new data flow.
  • Request deletion of off-chain data by emailing privacy@basewalk.app.
  • You may continue to view on-chain records on a block explorer.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). Do not use the Service if you are under the minimum age.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; we will post the date above. Significant changes will be communicated when feasible.
